Longman & Van Grack Attorney Named Vice Chair of the ABA Section of Taxation Closely Held Businesses Committee
Longman & Van Grack Attorney Robb Longman, who is the current Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association’s (MSBA) Tax Section, has been named the Vice Chair of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Section of Taxation Closely Held Businesses Committee. The firm is thrilled that Mr. Longman is being recognized for his many years of working on tax concerns and issues, and we are proud to have Mr. Longman head our firm’s Tax Law Practice.
The ABA Section of Taxation Closely Held Businesses Committee provides private practitioners and government lawyers with a forum to share their knowledge and interact on matters involving closely held businesses, including corporate planning, estate and business succession planning, state & local tax planning issues, and representation before taxing authorities.
Mr. Longman’s extensive background in tax law provides him with the ability to advise his clients not just on the corporate matters but the tax effects of those matters as well. Mr. Longman has successfully represented many business, individuals, and non-profits before the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing agencies. Mr. Longman represents his clients in tax audits, in the United States Tax Court, the Maryland Tax Court, and Mr. Longman regularly assists his clients in resolving outstanding tax debts. Mr. Longman also works with his client to help them plan for their future. With his extensive knowledge of the tax laws, Mr. Longman works with his client to ensure that their estate plans are set up so they can take advantage of estate deductions; protecting their funds while passing the most of it to their families..
