Longman & Van Grack Attorney Presents at the 2015 ABA Joint Fall CLE Meeting
Beginning today through this weekend, Longman & Van Grack Attorney Robb Longman will be presenting at multiple CLE Programs at the 2015 American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Taxation and Section of Real Property, Trust & Estate Law, Trust & Estate Division 2015 Joint Fall CLE Meeting in Chicago, Illinois.
First, Robb will be a Panelist on the CLE: “Selling the Dreaded C-Corp While Minimizing Double Taxation.” This panel will discuss issues that arise when selling C-Corporations and suggest planning ideas to help minimize the double taxation that can occur to the current shareholder. Discussion will focus on the benefits of creating an S-Corporation, allocation of personal good will to the shareholders, and other planning strategies that may be used to minimize tax for the corporation and the shareholders upon an asset sale.
Second, Robb will be the Moderator on the CLE: “How to Practice Law, Abide by the Rules of Professional Conduct, and Have a Life that Rules.” This program will discuss ways to provide responsive service to your clients while preserving a life outside the practice of law. Participants will learn how to save up to 4 weeks of time annually by implementing techniques designed to manage your practice efficiently.
Robb’s background in tax law provides him with the ability to advise his clients not just on the corporate matters but the tax effects of those matters as well. In fact, Robb is not only the head of our Firm’s Tax Practice, he is also the Chair of Maryland State Bar Association’s Tax Section. Robb regularly works with his clients to devise strategies to help them minimize their taxes in their business transactions.
