Maryland Tax Court Attorneys
The Maryland Tax Court is an administrative court where Maryland businesses and individuals can attend to directly dispute a tax assessment by the Comptroller of Maryland. These Maryland tax cases include denial of refunds, individual income tax assessments, assessments of sales and use taxes, assessments of employment taxes and the personal assessment of the failure to pay sales and use taxes or employment taxes.
In Maryland, all taxpayers have a right to go to the Maryland Tax Court after the assessment is made and an appeal has been filed and denied. When a Maryland taxpayer gets the notice of determination from the Maryland Comptroller’s Appeals Division they will have thirty days to appeal. It is important to note that Maryland taxpayers must appeal during that time frame in order to have the Maryland Tax Court hear the case.
